Why this matters now
⚡
AI is already in procurement
Spend analysis, contract review, supplier risk, tender writing — AI tools are being used for all of it. The question isn't whether to use them, it's whether you know how to get good outputs.
🎯
Prompting is a skill
Getting useful output from AI requires knowing how to structure a prompt, provide context, set constraints and critically evaluate what comes back. Most people haven't been taught this — yet.
🔍
Procurement context matters
Generic AI courses don't know what a Kraljic Matrix is, or how to brief AI on a specification, or why you can't just copy-paste an AI contract clause. This workshop does.

What you'll be able to do
01
Write prompts that actually work
Structure your instructions so AI gives you useful, relevant, accurate output — not a generic essay that misses the point.
02
Apply AI to real procurement tasks
Drafting specifications, reviewing contracts, researching suppliers, writing tender documents, preparing reports — with AI as a thinking partner.
03
Critically evaluate AI outputs
Know when to trust what AI tells you, when to verify it, and when to ignore it entirely. AI hallucination is real — you need to catch it.
04
Work safely and compliantly
Understand GDPR implications, data privacy in AI tools, and how to build an AI approach that your organisation's legal and compliance teams can support.
05
Build reusable prompt libraries
Create a bank of tested, effective prompts for your team's most common tasks — so everyone benefits, not just the person who attended the workshop.
06
Stay ahead of the curve
AI in procurement is moving fast. You'll leave with a framework for evaluating new tools as they emerge — not just knowledge of today's tools.

What good prompting looks like

The difference between a useful AI output and a useless one is almost always the quality of the prompt. Here are examples of procurement-specific prompts covered in the workshops:

Specification drafting

"You are a procurement specialist writing an output-based specification for a 3-year facilities management contract for a 5,000sqm NHS office building. Write a specification covering cleaning, maintenance and security. Use outcome-based language, avoid prescribing inputs, and include measurable KPIs for each service area. Format as numbered clauses."

→ Produces a structured, professional starting point in seconds — you edit, don't start from blank
Contract clause review

"Review this limitation of liability clause from a supplier's standard terms. Identify any provisions that are unusual, potentially unenforceable under English law, or that significantly disadvantage the buyer. Explain each concern in plain English and suggest alternative wording where appropriate."

→ Surfaces issues in seconds that might take a non-lawyer hours to spot
Supplier risk research

"Summarise the key supply chain risks associated with sourcing rare earth minerals from suppliers in [country]. Include geopolitical risk, regulatory risk, ESG risk and logistics risk. Structure your response using the 4Ts framework (Terminate, Transfer, Treat, Tolerate) and suggest one mitigation for each risk category."

→ Structured risk briefing in your chosen framework, ready to present

"I'm autistic — and I've been obsessed with AI and prompting since the moment it became genuinely useful. Pattern recognition, systems thinking, relentless iteration — these are what make someone good at prompting, and they happen to be exactly how my brain works. I've spent hundreds of hours testing, refining and building with AI tools. These workshops aren't a side project. They're something I genuinely love."
